👋 Hey Creator!

May the forces of content creation visit you today!!😉

In this issue, it's all about podcasting. This audio paradise is developing at lightening speed and I want to keep you abreast with the latest happenings. So.. let's go!

Remote Podcast Recording, Anybody? 🤔

Finding the right tools to create your podcast can make or break your show.

Podcasting tools like Descript allow you to record, edit, and publish your podcast all in one place. It eliminates two of the possible drawbacks of starting a podcast: technical ability (it’s easy to use) and cost (it’s free).

Even if you have no prior experience, anyone can create a successful show with pro podcast features like:

  • Automatic transcription for your podcast show notes
  • High-quality video and audio recording
  • Library of royalty-free songs and sound effects
  • Filler Word Removal to eliminate “ums,” “uhs,” and repeated words
  • Studio Sound to get professional-grade sound—without an expensive microphone
  • Social Post Writer to save time sharing your podcast on social media

More Resources To Help You Grow Your Podcast👇🏽

  • Podcast-maker tool Alitu now has episode transcriptions included, too. Now you can have one single place to record, edit, publish, and share your podcast.
  • Airwave helps podcasters with marketing and promotion. This includes flexible monetization that incorporating white-glove ad sales, programmatic advertising, custom sponsored integrations, subscriptions, and much more. Podcasters have total ownership and creative control of their content, free RSS feed hosting, and industry-best analytics. Find out more here.
  • If your podcast has a video component, providing closed captions goes a long way to making sure more people can have access. Headliner is the most well-known audiogram service. Available as an app for mobile devices or on your browser, this service integrates with Castos, Spreaker, Blubrry, and Libsyn. If you use one of these, you already have it in your toolkit.

The Choose Yourself Guide to Wealth: James Altucher

The 3 Big Ideas:

  1. “The only skills you need to be an entrepreneur are an ability to fail, an ability to have ideas and to sell those ideas, the courage to execute on those ideas, and to be persistent so even as you fail you learn and move on to the next adventure”.
  2. Ask: “What can I do right now to move forward, in this second?”
  3. “When you have ideas, you’ll quickly get freedom. When you get freedom, you’ll have the energy to build more ideas, to generate more abundance, to live the life you want to live”.

I like this book because it speaks directly to me as a creator.

We seem to struggle with the dilemma of choosing passion over money. Many people say that following your passion doesn't always lead to money. According to this book, abundance only comes when you are moving along your themes — when you are truly enhancing the lives of the people around you.

Here's where it gets better!

“Ideas are the currency of life."

Not money—because money can run out. Money gets depleted until you go broke. But good ideas buy you good experiences, buy you better ideas, buy you better experiences, buy you more time, and good ideas save your life. And so the only skills you need to be an entrepreneur are an ability to fail, an ability to have ideas and to sell those ideas, the courage to execute on those ideas, and to be persistent so even as you fail you learn and move on to the next adventure.

🎧Podcasts I'm Listening To...!

JACKED:

Have you ever had a dream? Something you wanted so bad you just couldn’t let it go? For a group of kids in Harlem in the Eighties, their dreams would change pop music forever. Teddy Riley, Timmy Gatling, and Aaron Hall form a group called Guy that would fuse hip-hop and R&B and launch a new sound. By the early Nineties, the New Jack Sound dominated the pop music charts: Bell Biv Devoe, Bobby Brown, Boyz II Men, and many more. But the rise of the New Jack sound would come at a cost, and not everyone would make it to the top.

Hosted by Taraji P Henson, Jacked is a story of friendship, gangsters, double-crosses, and big dreams. From Wondery and Universal Music Group.

Here's the link again.

PS - This is one of the BEST produced podcasts I've listened to, hands down! The production, the script, music, narrative and of course Taraji's animated conversational style...brilliant!

🎤Get This Gear!

Skyrocket your content creation with these beauties!

  • The Rodecaster Pro II is out!: Anything Rode is already fantastic! But they've upped the ante with this beast! It's the ultimate audio production solution for content creators, including streamers, podcasters and musicians. An entire radio desk in one unit. You really don't need anything else to record solo or group interviews with ease. But hang on to your wallet, coz it's a pricey baby!
  • Shure SM58: Call me traditional. Call me boring😁👨🏽‍🚒. But for my money, there's no better dynamic mic than the SM58 for podcasting. There're a couple of pretenders to the throne but when you need a dynamic mic that promises a bright, crisp, vocal recording, this is it. Unlike many mics, the SM58 works despite your vocal range. Whether you're soprano, alto, tenor or bass, you will still sound full-bodied. Some mics make you sound chirpy or muffled. Not this boy! This is by far the best dynamic mic you can get your hands on. And it won't put a dent in your wallet. It's a must-have for any amateur or professional podcaster.
